It was in recognition of the problem inherent in the one-for-one exchange of load carriers involved in the bartering process and the resulting idea of solving it that led to the founding of PAKi-TTV GmbH in 1974. Starting out with less than half a dozen employees on the books, the company quickly established a Germany-wide network of over 100 distribution and collection locations.
The originally owner-operated company was acquired in 2005 by a group of investors and management of the company now known as PAKi Logistics GmbH was taken over by shareholder Christian Kühnhold, who has driven forward the international expansion of the POOLING PARTNERS network ever since. Christian Agasse, from France, has been employed by the company since 2007, and was appointed Managing Director in November 2011. He has supported Christian Kühnhold in transforming the company's European Sales and Marketing strategy and is responsible for international markets outside the Germany-Austria-Switzerland Region.
PAKI is the market leader in the pool management of standardized load carriers, and today its pooling network has over 10,000 stations. On 20 January 2012 it was acquired by the Dutch Faber Halbertsma Group (FHG), Europe's biggest pallet supplier and one of the leading pallet pooling companies in Europe. It now operates under the new name of FHG PAKi. Since 20 January 2012, Christian Kühnhold and Christian Agasse have been joined on the board of FHG PAKi by Ingrid G. C. Faber and Marcel J. P. Fok from the FHG partnership
